Dr. Jack Lesko

Vice President of Engineering and Business Development

Jack has 20+ years of design and analytical experience as a mechanical engineer, with background in physics and mechanics.  Jack’s academic career at Virginia Tech has focused on emerging interdisciplinary design involving lightweight multifunctional materials, structural design and packaging.

His work has resulted in the implementation of in-service structures using new composite technologies and systems, and the creation of standards for their design in industrial and international codes.  Jack has cooperatively secured and managed design, R&D programs totaling over $14M in the last 13 years. 

In an administrative capacity, Jack served as Virginia Tech’s university wide coordinator for energy outreach, education, research, and technology commercialization efforts (Energy Ideas @ Virginia Tech, www.research.vt.edu/energy).

VPT-ES spun off from VPT, Inc., an power electronics firm with over 15 years of commercial experience in high-reliability power electronics. The key electrical designers are graduates of the internationally recognized Center for Power Electronics Systems headquartered at Virginia Tech.
